At Birdy’s Beatery™, we’re crafting something a little different on the shores of Lake Huron — a gathering space where music, food, and people come together in a room full of character and unexpected charm. We’re on the lookout for performers who bring originality, talent, and presence — artists who connect with listeners and play with intention.
We’re especially interested in original material — musicians who write their own songs and want to share them with a live audience. Cover songs are fine too, but we’re looking for performers whose identity isn’t built around sounding like someone else. We’re not tied to any particular genre. Folk, bluegrass, acoustic country, indie, jazz-infused, ambient, unplugged rock — if it works in our space and feels like you, we want to hear it.
The key is volume and energy control. We aim to keep performances around 80 decibels, so whether you're playing acoustic or electric, solo or full band, we ask that you adapt to the space. If you’ve got a rock band that can play quiet — electronic drums, light sticks, turned-down amps — you’re absolutely welcome to reach out.
We’re especially excited about musicians who:
- Write and perform their own songs
- Can play to a listening room, not just a bar
- Know how to create energy without overwhelming the space
- Embrace character and creativity in how they perform
Friday & Saturday Nights:
- 8:00–11:00pm, with one or two 15-minute breaks
Sunday Breakfast Buffet:
- 11:00am–2:00pm, during our 10:00–3:00 breakfast buffet
- Ideal for laid-back, melodic sets with an earlier energy
You’ll be performing on a 12’x14’ dedicated stage, backed by:
- Four dedicated interference-protected circuits (2 front, 2 back)
- A PRORECK MX15 8-channel PA system
- A 120 sq ft dance floor for guests who feel like moving
Performers are responsible for:
- Bringing your own mics, stands, cables, instruments, stools, etc.
- Managing your own sound mix (we’ll show you the PA basics if needed)
- We offer flat-rate pay, negotiated based on group size, experience, and draw.
- All performers receive free coffee, tea, and soda.
- A complimentary meal may be included as part of your negotiated rate.
While we do not charge a cover, bands are welcome to:
- Display a tip jar
- Set up a merch table
- Encourage tipping during or between sets
- We actively encourage our guests to support performers, and many are happy to do so.
We’ll help get the word out by:
- Featuring your gig on our website with a photo and social links
- Promoting through our Facebook page with event posts and shares
We welcome any cross-promotion from you — and if you’ve got a mailing list, street team, or local following, we’re happy to work together to build buzz.
This isn’t a sports bar or a concert hall. It’s more like your artsy cousin’s living room met a cozy café and invited a few hundred vinyl records and a comfort-food buffet to the party. The music is part of the soul here — not just background noise, but a vital presence in the room. It’s a place where diners look up from their plates when a lyric catches them, where an unexpected chord can hush the room, and where local flavor extends beyond the menu.
If this feels like a fit, please send us:
- Your name or group name and how many are in the act
- A short description of your style and set
- Sample video or audio (live performance preferred)
- Your typical rate
- Your availability for Fridays, Saturdays, or Sunday brunch
Let’s make some music together.
